Artemis at the Vermont Jazz Center "Collectively, the sheer force of the group's ability is staggering!" —DownBeat Hold onto your hats – the music of Blue Note recording artists Artemis can only be performed by the very best musicians who have come together in a perfect storm. Each member of the group is a noted composer, interpreter of the jazz tradition,& master of their given instrument. Artemis has performed on some of the country’s most iconic stages, from Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Tisch Center for the Arts to the Newport Jazz Festival. Artemis, voted the “Jazz Group of the Year” by the 2023 Downbeat Reader’s poll was initially organized by pianist& music director Renee Rosnes. The other members are trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, saxophonist Nicole Glover, bassist Noriko Ueda,& drummer Allison Miller. Artemis collaborates as a collective. Rosnes said she was an “organizing force,” but “it’s all of our vision together.” The VJC greatly appreciates the sponsorship of this performance by VJC’s supporters David Salzberg & Elissa Barr. The VJC is supported in part by the Vermont Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts,& the Vermont Community Foundation.
